Breaking News: Drake Security Guard Shot Multiple Times In Drive-By Shooting At His Home Amidst Beef With Kendrick Lamar
A male individual has been admitted to the hospital with severe gunshot wounds following a shooting incident near Drake's Toronto home.
Reports from both CBC and Toronto's CityNews indicate that paramedics have communicated the non-life-threatening nature of the injuries sustained by the individual. Law enforcement authorities have also verified that Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham, himself was not the target of the attack and was not injured.
The 'Toronto Sun' reports the injured man is the "Hotline Bling's" rapper's security guard. The man, whose name has not been revealed, is 48-years-old and was shot multiple times in what's being called a drive-by shooting.
Toronto police indicated that the shooting occurred at approximately 2:10 a.m. ET in the vicinity of Bayview and Lawrence Avenues, according to a statement on X, previously known as Twitter.
According to authorities, a suspect escaped the scene in a vehicle. However, neither descriptions of the suspect nor details regarding the car were provided.
A source within the police department, speaking to CBC in Toronto, confirmed that the ongoing investigation is focused on Drake's residence. It's unclear whether Drake, 37, was home at the time of the shooting.
In the artwork for "Not Like Us," Kendrick Lamar's most recent release in the ongoing musical rivalry between the two prominent rappers, an aerial image of the residence was displayed.

Drake's 50,000-square-foot home, which he calls The Embassy, is stationed on Bridle Path. It features a NBA regulation-size indoor basketball court with a 21-square-foot pyramidal skylight. His mansion was also featured in 'Architectural Digest' in 2020.
