'Bold and the Beautiful' Cast News: New Bisexual Character Debuting Soon? Who Will Be Potential Love Interests? [PHOTO]
Fresh on the heels of not only revealing a key character as transgender and then having a progressively-minded wedding between the character and her cisgender love, The Bold and the Beautiful is potentially preparing to take another controversial approach with a new bisexual character.
The show recently aired the historic first wedding on a soap for a transgender character, as Maya (Karla Mosley) and Rick's (Jacob Young) love story came to a happy conclusion with their vows. Now, according to Daytime Confidential, the show is ready to take another potentially controversial stand with a new character.
According to the website, the show will be bringing in a bisexual male character for the first time. The description has him labeled as a white male between the ages of 25-28, and the name of the character will be Christian. He will work in fashion (appropriate for the show which is centered around the drama surrounding a family-run fashion house), and is also described as being sophisticated, professional, having a great sense of style and possibly a comic side to him.
It is unclear just who the character would potentially romance, though several characters are currently on the canvas who are single and ripe for being romanced. Unless another bisexual or male character is added, Christian's arrival could signal that another established character on the soap could be revealed as bisexual or gay if he romances one of the men-which include Thomas (Pierson Fode), Carter (Lawrence St. Victor) and the recently single Oliver (Zach Conroy), following his girlfriend Aly's shocking death.
However, the show is likely to make the new character more of a romantic interest for a female, which leaves the possible interests wide open, as every female character on the soap except for Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is currently attached to another male.
The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
