Canadian-born actors Jay Baruchel and Alison Pill called off their engagement after supposed troubles related to their long distance relationship.

Pill announced the news to Entertainment Tonight Canada at the Beverly Hills Paleyfest panel for the HBO series Newsroom on March 3 when she was asked for an update about the wedding plans.

The 27-year-old actress replied saying "there will be none" and was pictured without her engagement ring during photo ops at the 30th annual event that celebrates media.

The couple became engaged in December 2010 after meeting during the filming of the hockey comedy Goon. Baruchel and Pill had plans to wed in September 2012 at a wine vineyard in Quebec, according to US Weekly.

It appears that the engagement and the relationship has potentially been over for a few weeks as Baruchel posted a message on Twitter about being dumped by his fiancée in February.

"Alone again, naturally," the actor wrote in a tweet that was later deleted, according to E! News. "Heartbroken. I won't be on twitter for awhile gang. Getting dumped rules."

Baruchel also previously hinted about relationship troubles and was quoted by The Toronto Sun about the long distance troubles that stopped the wedding.

"Unfortunately, we're two busy people who are intrinsically lazy, so in our free time, the last thing we want to do is book flights and organize hotel rooms for people," the 30-year-old Tropic Thunder actor said.

Baruchel reportedly lives and works in Canada while Pill works mainly in the U.S.

Pill currently stars as Maggie Jordon on Newsroom and had roles in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World as well as Midnight in Paris.

She made news in September when she accidentally sent a topless picture of herself to over 14,000 followers on Twitter. The incident is likely the reason that the actress has since deleted her account on the social media site.
