Crystal Bowersox Climbs to Fame; New Album 'All That For This' Set for March 26 Release
Season 9 American Idol Runner-Up Crystal Bowersox returns with a new label-deal with Shanachie Entertainment.
The 27-year-old came out with an album All That For This, featuring a duet with the Wallflowers' Jakob Dylan, where her single Dead Weight is featured.
"This song means more to me than even I can completely comprehend," Bowersox told The Boot. "I feel like it's one of those tunes where the meaning will get deeper and deeper over time as you start to really live and actualize the words into your existence."
Bowersox will also carry a starring role in Broadway's Always...Patsy Cline. "It's a tragic story and a great play and I'm really honored to be the one they chose to play Patsy," Bowersox told The Boot.
The singer is progressing in her career, and moving up in the ranks, with her album set to hit stores March 26. Part of her consideration in coming out with her album was the setting in which it was done. Shanachie Entertainment literally translates to mean "storyteller," and Bowersox said the process was comfortable, and done in her own home.
"The process for this album was very relaxed and laid-back. We did it here [in Portland], so I got to sleep in my own bed every night. Music is best when the players are feeling good," she said in an interview from her West Coast home.
Bowersox lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband Brian Walker and their young son, Tony.
