Lady Gaga performed her nominated song "Til It Happens to You" at the Oscars, giving a powerful tribute to survivors of sexual assault.

Gaga sang her heart out during her performance of "Til It Happens to You" from the movie The Hunting Ground, a documentary detailing the rampant sexual assault problem on campuses across America.

The pop superstar was Oscar nominated for Best Original Song alongside prolific songwriter Diane Warren for writing "Til It Happens to You." This is Warren's eighth nomination in this category, with nominations dating back to 1988 for "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" from the movie Mannequin.

This performance continues Gaga's banner year thus far, having won a Golden Globe for her acting in American Horror Story: Hotel, performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl and given a tribute to David Bowie at the Grammys. She has an album coming out later this year, her first solo record since 2013's ARTPOP.
