Is there any hope that Mat and Mariana will get back together when The Fosters returns?

On Sunday, TV Guide released some information from Cierra Ramirez who plays Mariana on the Freeform drama. Her character had a rough split from her boyfriend Mat after she slept with someone else. But with them as the leading stars of the musical, playing lovers Romeo and Juliet, their feelings are gradually catching up with them.

"Going into this play, there were some hard feelings Mat had towards her," Ramirez said. "He's never really forgiven her. [Mariana] has never really moved on. She's never gotten closure."

Perhaps, Mariana might find the closure she needs, but is that really what should happen since she and Mat are trying to move on?

"As the play has progressed, [Mat and Mariana's] feelings have definitely [grown]," the actress revealed. "It's going to be kind of hard because they both have significant others they have to think about- and they're both really happy in those relationships as well."

While this is one storyline to think about, there will be drama happening with other members of the family. Apparently, Stef will get involved in some domestic dispute situation where she'll come across something that will not only shock her, but her family as well.

It's unclear on what exactly that might be, but there's a possibility that fans may end up saying goodbye to someone important.

The Fosters airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
