Adrienne Maloof and Paul Nassif endured a messy split in 2012 when they parted ways after 10 years of marriage, but nowadays the former couple is in a much better place.

While thing between them were quite strained years ago, and there were even allegations of abuse, Maloof and Nassif have since put their differences aside for the sake of their three sons, 13-year-old Gavin and 10-year-old twins, Colin and Christian.

"Everything's fine. All we care about is making sure our kids are being raised properly," Nassif revealed to The Daily Dish on Thursday. "That's the most important thing. So we're fine. Status quo."

That said, it isn't always easy to juggle being a father with his busy plastic surgery career and E! reality show, Botched.

"Obviously the network [E!] does the best they can to work with my schedule [while filming]. Sometimes...it's unlimited time and sometimes when we go away, when we film Botched By Nature, I am away from the kids. And it is hard," he said. "This is one of those things where you have to balance work schedule, family schedule, life schedule, work schedule, and it's hard. You can't always please everyone. But obviously, the biggest [thing], we're always trying to make sure we can take care of the children and we have them affected the least. And that's what we do. And again, it doesn't work perfect all the time, but we do a decent job of that."

In January, The Daily Dish spoke with Maloof about her relationship with Nassif and she too had good things to say.

"It's constantly changing and [we're] working on co-parenting and being better parents. But it's a process. It's always evolving," she said at the time. "You really have to find solutions. You've got to find answers. You have to be able to seek help if you need it. And in our case, we both needed to have a third party to help us through and guide us through this process."
