Another cast member has made the shocking decision to leave Days of Our Lives.

Just after Kate Mansi's on-screen exit as Abigail Deveraux, Jen Lilley has made the shocking announcement that she has quit the show and will be exiting her role as Theresa Donovan.

Daytime Confidential broke the story over the weekend, citing that Lilley reportedly wants a break from the grueling schedule of taping for daytime soap operas, and revealed that she had actually given her notice potentially a few months back, meaning that with the show's 6-month in advance taping schedule, her departure could be as early as this summer.

Not much else has been revealed about her decision to quit, or when her final air date will be, though a part of her exit storyline will include the return of her on-screen parents, Kimberly Brady (Patsy Pease) and Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy). It is unclear if the show will bring back Kassie DePaiva as Theresa's sister, Eve Donovan for a brief appearance, after firing her last year.

Lilley's character has been planning to wed Brady (Black (Eric Martsolf) recently, though her concerns about Summer (Marie Wilson) have led to her trying to secretly investigate her as well. With her exit coming however, it seems unlikely that Theresa and Brady will have a happily-ever-after ending, as her parents could come back to town if Theresa winds up killed off. With no news about a potential recast, such a fate could befall the character.

Lilley herself hasn't spoken out about her decision to leave the show on social media, though she did share a photo on Instagram before news of her departure broke where she shared how much she loved working with her fellow cast members and crew.
