Gigi Hadid is fighting back against body critics.

After a fan on Instagram called her out for being too thin on Instagram, Hadid responded, claiming that her thinner frame isn't the result of her being unhealthy.

"It’s called growing up," Hadid wrote, via a Maxim report. "I loved my body as a 17-year-old athlete and I love my body now. Yes, I’ve lost some ‘baby fat,’ but muscle mass from my intensive volleyball training in high school has changed over the years into lean muscle from boxing, and work stress can have its affect [sic], but purposefully changing my body has never been my thing. I still eat what I want, I’m still strong, and I’m still healthy."

"Your comment won’t get me down," she continued, "but next time, please think about the young women who may read body-judgement comments and judge themselves as they see their bodies growing and therefore naturally changing, too."

In other Hadid news, the model recently rekindled her romance with Zayn Malik.

"Things are back to normal with them," a source close to Malik told E! News in July. "They got through a rough patch that Zayn was facing personally and it started to put a dark cloud on their relationship. Gigi was there for him when he needed her the most and that brought them closer than ever."

"They have been spending some alone time together lately without the media seeing them," the source added. "Zayn is feeling better with the help of Gigi and many other close people in his life. It's a work in progress for him."

According to the report, the singer has "opened up to Gigi about his anxiety the past few weeks" and the two "have been through a lot these past few months, but they are really trying to communicate better going forward."

The source also said that Malik, who opened up about his anxiety struggles after canceling a show in June, "really appreciates Gigi even more after this because he sees how much Gigi is there for him."
