Kevin Hamric, Viz Media's Senior Director of Sales and Marketing has mentioned interesting details about the third season of the anime.
"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 has been in hiatus for far too long, and fans are waiting for the second part to Ken Kaneki's story. "Tokyo Ghoul" season 2 left Ken Kaneki's fate unknown, as fans got to see Ken facing off against Arima "The Reaper". The series ended with Arima blankly staring at the place where Kaneki was standing.
"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 rumors suggests that this has caused fans who don't follow the manga to speculate that Ken Kaneki is dead. Some rumors also claim that he has lost his memory. People also believe that he might be the next One-Eyed King. Right now, claims have been made that Arima is the original One-Eyed King.
