Jussie Smollett sparked concerns that he might do what Jeffrey Epstein and John McAfee did to themselves while incarcerated.

On Instagram, Smollett's brother, Jocqui, shared a three-minute clip where he gave an update about the actor. According to him, Smollett had already entered a psych ward at Cook County jail despite having no risk of harming himself.

"So Jussie is currently in a psych ward at Cook County Jail. What's very concerning is there was a note attached to his paperwork today and put on the front of his jail cell saying that he's at risk of self-harm," he said.

He assured the followers that Smollett remains stable, strong, and healthy amid his legal issues. In the end, he thanked his brother's supporters and asked them to share facts about the case online to support the claims that he is innocent.

NBC News revealed that, as of press time, the Cook County Sheriff's Office had not commented anything regarding the actor's status yet.

The new information and Smollett's actions inside the court seem to contradict. For what it's worth, he yelled to the courtroom that he was not suicidal as he exited the room, as reported by Deadline. He also told everyone he did not have any plan on killing himself while in custody.

Judge Linn told him, "There is nothing that I will do here today that can come close to the damage you've already done to your own life."

His statement seemingly reflected on what happened to Jeffrey Epstein and John McAfee, who allegedly committed suicide while incarcerated.

Jussie Smollett's Grandmother Doesn't Want Actor to be in Prison

Before Jocqui uploaded the video, Smollett's grandmother had already warned the judge not to send her grandson to prison or else she would go "along with him."

The 92-year-old, however, failed to scare the judge as the court sentenced the actor to 150 days to jail for four felony counts of lying to the police.

The legal case started when Smollett committed a fake hate crime in January 2019. At that time, he told Chicago police he was attacked by two men while walking home around 2:00 a.m. He added that the alleged suspects shouted racist and homophobic slurs and even used former POTUS Donald Trump's renowned slogan, "Make America Great Again."

The authorities considered the event as a hate crime and immediately conducted an investigation into the matter. However, the police and prosecutors believed Smollett only staged the event.
