Chris Redd is not engaging when it comes to the Kanye-Kim-Pete drama.

The Saturday Night Live star has made the active decision not to engage when it comes to the drama surrounding his fellow cast member, Pete Davidson, and the two recent divorceès, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. As a comedian who deals largely in topical news, actively avoiding maybe the biggest celebrity news we have seen in recent history is a major decision. However, Redd has expressly maintained that he does not want to add flames to this celeb fueled fire.

According to an article on People, Redd recently appeared on The Jess Cagle Show on Serius XM radio. In the interview he explained why he is seeking to steer clear:

"When it comes to Ye, I'm always of the mind that I'll make fun,...I was raised joking. You clown, you clown people. That's kind of how we come up. We're from the same place. We know the same people, but at the same time, there is a serious layer to that situation that I just won't make fun of."

Redd made clear that he would never make fun of West's mental health, which, as we have been following, has been a major through line in all of these proceedings. A large part of his decision not to jab at West is also out of his friendship with Davidson.

"It's just better not to like put your friend in a weird situation by antagonizing a situation more than you need to...But I'm really tired of sitting on these jokes though. So I hope they figure that out soon. Cause I ain't got nothing to do with none of this."

In the in-your-wife's-bed text exchange between Davidson and West, the comedian mentioned that he has been barring fellow SNL cast members from making jokes about the situation. It is good to know that his friends on the inside are supportive of this effort.

We hope all of this soon comes to a peaceful conclusion. Davidson is now officially earth bound as a Deadline article stated that his Blue Origin flight was delayed and, now, the star will not be able to join the sky. Honestly, it's probably a good thing. There is a lot going on for Davidson on earth right now.

We wish for the best for all parties involved.
