Tiger Woods made a "pretty remarkable recovery," as seen during his appearance at The Masters, a sports health expert revealed.

After months of being away from the golf course, Woods finally joined a tournament at August National and carded a six-over-par 78. He finished with the same score on Sunday on 13-over.

Although it was his worst score in a Masters round, his performance was reportedly impressive since he suffered injuries before his return.

Orthopedic surgeon and sports health expert of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Langone Health, Dr. Kirk Campbell, said that it was fantastic that he could come back.

"He had a very, very severe injury to that right lower high extremity, multiple surgeries, very tough rehab. This just goes to show his will and determination to kind of rehab from such a terrible injury. Just looking at him play yesterday [Thursday], I was thoroughly impressed," he told PEOPLE.

Woods' return came after speculations about his appearance at the 2022 Masters emerged. Although he did not have a concrete plan until the Masters' day itself, he told reporters a week ago that his recovery has been good.

Dr. Campbell added that Woods' recovery was very quick compared to an average athlete. With that, he called the golfer's development an impressive one, and that he is a testament of how good modern medicine is.

As of this time, Woods ranks 37th in the final round of the tournament.

Tiger Woods To Attend 150th Open Championship

Following the Masters, Woods confirmed his attendance at the 150th Open Championship at St. Andrews, Scotland, in July. Before the event, he might - or might not - join the next major, the PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in May.

When asked if the recent Masters is still one of the greatest achievements of his career, he said "yes."

"To go from where I was to get to this point, I've had an incredible team that has helped me get to this point and incredible support from - as I alluded to in the press conference on Tuesday, the amount of texts and FaceTimes and calls I got from players that are close to me throughout this entire time has meant a lot," Woods explained, as quoted by CBS58.

Regardless of his future schedule, one thing is for sure right now: Tiger Woods is definitely back.
