Superstar of both the stage and screen, Ariana DeBose has been officially slated to host the 2022 Tony Awards.

This has been a banner year for the performer. She won an Oscar for her work in the Stephen Speilberg adaptation of West Side Story; She hosted the iconic sketch series Saturday Night Live; She has quickly become a household name for her unbelievable talent.

Now, she will be entering the homes of the world through our screens at the Tony Awards this year.

DeBose is thrilled to be hosting the awards ceremony. In an official statement, she exclaimed:

"I'm coming home! I'm so honored to celebrate 75 years of excellence in theatre, but more importantly every member of this community who poured themselves into making sure the lights of Broadway have the opportunity to shine brightly once again!...This is a dream come true, and I'm excited to see you all on June 12th." 

While the star has impressively cemented herself within the Hollywood fold within the last year, her illustrious Broadway resume speaks for itself. She has given unforgettable performances in shows such as Bring It On: The Musical, Motown The Musical, PippinHamilton, A Bronx Tale The Musical, and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical

We can't wait to see DeBose and all of the other performers at this year's showing on June 12th, 2022. The ceremony will air on CBS and Paramount+. We will announce the nominees when they are released on May 9th.
