Music icon JAY-Z might not be as busy with laying down tracks as he was in his youth, but that doesn't mean he is ready to put down the mic just yet.

On the newest episode of the Kevin Hart hosted Peacock talk show Hart to Heart, JAY-Z sat down with the comedian to talk about what might be on the horizon in terms of continuing to put out new material. But going into retirement is not one of them. The Forever Young performer said this about getting back into the studio,

"I don't know what happens next. I'm not actively making music or making an album or have plans to make an album. But I never want to say I'm retired... It's a gift, and who am I to shut it off? It's open to whatever...

"It may have a different form, a different interpretation. Maybe it's not an album. Maybe it is. I have no idea, but I'm just gonna leave it open."

The reason retirement might not be an option anymore is because of the time in 2003 when he said he was leaving the game - only to come back to work on the collaborative Kingdom Come from 2006, which featured the likes of John Legend, Usher, Pharrell, and Chris Martin just to name a few.

The now 52-year-old rap legend has not put out a new album in about five years, since he dropped 4:44 back in 2017. Though he had collaborated with his equally epic musician wife Beyoncé on their Everything Is Love album which led to the On The Run II Tour in 2018.

Looks like fans will just have to wait and see what, if anything, JAY-Z has in store for them, but whatever it is, you know it will be huge.
