A dated tweet from SZA has drawn mixed reactions from the netizens since it appeared to insult Rihanna.

Last week, the "Kill Bill" artist tweeted, "Pretending someone is wack or untalented 'cause you don't like them personally is so lame to me. LMAO. [You] gotta get that hater s**t up out cha spirit."

The same day, fan account @rihanna_impact unearthed a 2011 tweet from SZA that seemingly insulted Rihanna, as well as Ciara, way before she entered the music scene. The fan account shared a screenshot of the tweet in response to SZA's statement.

"I don't get it! Neither @rihanna or Ciara can hold a note worth a damn. One's just worse than the other. So [what's] the beef?!" read the screenshot of SZA's supposed old tweet.

Seeing the dated tweet resurface on X, formerly Twitter, netizens, especially Rihanna's fans, could not help but share their thoughts and reactions.

"Mind you, she can't even sing herself," one fan tweeted.

"SZA is so embarrassing," opined someone else.

"It's the fact that Rihanna was literally one of the first to even put her on and on her 'ANTI" album, so for her to say this is crazy," wrote a different commenter.

"Meanwhile, I can't even name one song SZA has but Rihanna can't hold a note? LOL. She needs to go sit down," stated another netizen.

"It's giving jealousy. I stopped listening to her a long time ago," said another one.

Meanwhile, several netizens also came to SZA's defense and noted that she tweeted it many years ago and "people change."

"I mean, people do grow up," one netizen tweeted.

"A screenshot from 13 years ago is a diabolical level of hate. LOL," another commented.

"That was such a long time ago. People change they evolve. Of course, you wouldn't know anything about evolving," wrote a different netizen.

Others also claimed that the "Snooze" artist's old tweet appeared valid.

"I love Riri, but this was years ago. She wasn't as developed vocally back then as she is now. Not saying she couldn't sing at all, but she has evolved so much since then," one X user shared.

"I love Rihanna, but we're not about to act like she's a great vocalist. She didn't start singing for real until 'Unapologetic,'" another user claimed.

"At the time, this was probably true. I love Ri but she really couldn't sing the entire first part of her career. She didn't start sounding good live until she performed 'Stay' at the Grammys," wrote a different commenter.

SZA addressed her old tweet about Rihanna in 2016. She acknowledged it and reminded fans that she was young and petty when she commented on the Barbadian singer and Ciara's vocals back then, according to Vibe.

The young artist even posed with best friends RiRi and Melissa Forde at the BRIT Awards that same year.
