Barron Trump appears to be ready to follow in his dad Donald Trump and older siblings' footsteps and enter the political arena.

On Wednesday, Donald and Melania Trump's only child was selected as one of Florida's 41 at-large delegates to the 2024 Republican National Convention, NBC News first reported.

This will mark the highest-profile political role so far for Barron, who was largely kept out of the public eye before he turned 18 in March.

The Republican Party of Florida also picked Barron's older half-brothers Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., his half-sister Tiffany Trump, and her husband Michael Boulos as Florida at-large delegates.

Eric was named the Florida GOP's delegation chairman.

Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Jr.'s fiancée and a member of the platform committee for the Republican National Convention, is among the delegation leaders.

"We are fortunate to have a great group of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family working together as part of the Florida delegation to the 2024 Republican National Convention," Florida GOP chairman Evan Power said in a statement obtained by Politico.

NBC News quoted him as saying, "Florida is continuing to have a great convention team, but more importantly, we are preparing to win Florida and win it big."

The Trump family members will be among the 2,429 delegates who will represent Florida at the 2024 Republican National Convention and participate in selecting the party's nominee for president in the November general election.

According to the Associated Press, delegates are often selected from "party insiders or activists or early supporters of a particular presidential candidate."

With Barron's selection as a delegate, Ivanka Trump -- who has been living in Florida with her family since the end of Donald's term in office -- is now the only one of the former president's children who is staying away from the political spotlight.

Ivanka, who served as White House senior adviser in the Trump administration, announced back in 2022 that she no longer wants to be involved in politics as her father launched a third presidential bid.

"While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena," she told Fox News Digital at the time.

Barron has been spotted supporting his father at a number of events in recent weeks.

Last month, the teen was seen posing with Donald and some of the GOP 2024 presidential candidate's supporters at a fundraising event at Mar-a-Lago.
