Donald Trump has broken his silence on the shooting at his rally in Pennsylvania Saturday that left him injured and killed at least one attendee.

In a statement posted on his Truth Social account, the former president and presumptive Republican nominee expressed his gratitude to the Secret Service and law enforcement as well as sent his condolences to the families of the two rally attendees who were hit by gunfire.

"I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania," Trump wrote.

"Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured," he added.

TMZ reported, citing unnamed sources, that two rallygoers were rushed to the hospital after being hit by bullets in the shooting.

According to the Associated Press, one attendee died, while the gunman was killed by Secret Service. Neither the victims nor the shooter has been identified as of this writing.

In his statement, Trump wrote that a bullet "pierced the upper part" of his right ear.

"I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening," he added.

Video footage shared by CNN from the rally showed Trump with blood on his ear and face immediately after gunshots were fired.

The Secret Service later said that Trump was safe after the ex-POTUS was rushed off the stage at his rally following the shooting.

Trump wrote in his post that he found it "incredible that such an act can take place in our Country."

"GOD BLESS AMERICA!" he concluded his statement.

Donald Trump Jr. also released a statement saying that his father was "in great spirits" when they talked on the phone following the incident.

"He will never stop fighting to save America, no matter what the radical left throws at him," Trump's eldest son said, according to AP.

President Joe Biden later addressed the rally shooting, which AP reported is currently being investigated as an attempted assassination on Trump.

During a televised address, Biden said he hadn't spoken with Trump yet but hoped to talk to him soon. He added that he was relieved to hear that his Republican competitor was "doing well."

Biden went on to condemn the shooting.

"There's no place in America for this kind of violence," Biden said. "It's sick. It's sick."

"It's one of the reasons why we need to unite this country. We cannot allow for this to be happening," he added. "We cannot be like this. We cannot condone this."
