Mexican American super star Selena Gomez is once again in the spotlight. This time, however, it's not about the resounding success of her cosmetics line, Rare Beauty, which has propelled her to billionaire status at the age of 32, or her upcoming movie "Emilia Perez," which is generating a strong Oscar buzz around her name.

Instead, the star of the hit series 'Only Murders in the Building' has decided to share a deeply personal revelation: she cannot gestate a pregnancy.

Although this news came as a surprise to many of her fans, Selena was clear that she still desires to be a mother. In an exclusive interview with 'Vanity Fair,' the performer shared that she is currently in one of her best personal moments, thanks in large part to her relationship with music producer Benny Blanco: "I've never been loved this way," she confessed.

The desire to be a mother persists, although not as she had planned. With her trademark sincerity, Selena addressed her plans to build a family, although she admitted that it wouldn't be in the way she always imagined. "I haven't ever said this," she confessed. "But I unfortunately can't carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby's in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while."

However, she considers other avenues to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother.

"Today I am in a much more peaceful place regarding this issue. I am deeply grateful that there are options such as surrogacy or adoption, which are great possibilities for me," she assured. And with a smile, she added, "At the end of the day, what matters is that it will be my child, my baby."

Selena has been in a relationship with Blanco since 2023, and she couldn't be happier. "He's just been a light. A complete light in my life. He's my best friend. I love telling him everything." the actress expressed.

In 2015, Selena revealed that she suffers from lupus, an autoimmune disease that can affect different organs of the body. To fight it, she had to undergo chemotherapy treatment, which forced her to take a career break and stay away from the public eye. Over the years, she has been honest about how difficult this process is, both physically and emotionally.

An organ transplant that saved her life

One of the hardest moments came in 2017, when due to complications from lupus, Selena needed a kidney transplant. It was her close friend, Francia Raisa, who donated the organ she needed. Although the operation was successful, Selena faced complications that required emergency surgery to repair an artery.

In addition to physical issues, Selena is very open about her struggles with mental health. In 2016, she took a career break to receive treatment for anxiety, panic attacks, and depression, disorders that are related to her lupus. Later, in 2020, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Since then, she has been a strong advocate for mental health, using her platform to promote conversation about these issues and reduce stigma.

Although the news took everyone by surprise, the truth is that Selena is going through a big personal and professional moment and continues to strengthen her position as one of the most solid names in entertainment.
