Thai action star Tony Jaa is joining the cast of Fast and Furious 7.

In the film Jaa, who is best known for his Ong Bak movies, will be going head-to-head with either Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson. Fast and Furious 7 will be his English-language debut as well as his first studio picture.

"I have been a big fan of the Fast and Furious franchise," Jaa told The Hollywood Reporter. "The films are fast-paced, fun and keep the audience involved. There is a great mix of humor and action, something I really appreciate. There is no better film to be involved in for a first U.S. studio production."

Jaa’s part in the international action flick remains unknown.

James Wan is directing the movie, which will start shooting in September. Fast 7 already has Jason Statham as the villain, in addition to the franchise's stars Diesel and Paul Walker. Ronda Rousey also is in talks to come in for a cameo.

Statham told Empire he was actually reluctant to play a villain.

"I didn't really want to play the villain, but there are certain moments where you think it might be a good time to do that," the British actor explained.

He continued: "I'm not saying I'm the full-blooded... I'm not going to tell you too much about what I'm going to do in the film, but if it's a good villain, there's obviously some consideration to be made. There are some really bad villains out there, and I don't want to get myself wet with that s**t."

Fast and Furious 7 is set to premiere in theaters July 2014.
