The million dollar question on the minds of fans of the BBC's cult-followed TV series, Sherlock, is surely when the program will be returning for its third series.

While an Oct. 31 date has recently been thrown around, it appears as though the show's upcoming launch date is still up in the air.

"Post-production will still be on-going for Sherlock until way into November," stated the BBC network.

The respective show adheres to the standards of the U.K. network, as it doesn't schedule exact air-date months until the finished episodes are in its hands.

The BBC's method clearly differs from the U.S., as a series premiere date is put into place some months in advance with the program going straight through until its finale or by going on small incremental hiatus'.

In both the U.S. and the U.K., the general norm is for the premiere installment to hit the small screen while the later episodes are either shooting or in the post-production phase.

Interestingly enough, two years will have passed since the program was last seen with new episodes on TV. Be sure to keep checking back for more of the latest information on the popular series.
