Bethenny Frankel Divorce to Jason Hoppy Made Even More Difficult as They Continue to Live Together, Source Says
Reality star and talk show host Bethenny Frankel filed for divorce from Jason Hoppy almost a year ago, and proceedings have not gotten any easier as the estranged couple continues to live together in New York City.
Frankel, 43, and Hoppy, 42, who together has 3-year-old daughter Bryn, are still in the midst of a bitter divorce battle. Their living situation is reportedly not helping legal proceedings flow smoothly.
"Jason's making things difficult,' a source told Us Weekly (reported by Daily Mail) of Hoppy living in their $5 million Tribeca, N.Y., condo. The Skinnygirl Cocktails mogul -- who is said to be worth around $100 million -- has describing living with her estranged husband as "very stressful." Another source argued that Hoppy "helped build her brand" and is reluctant to leave their home, but one insider came in Frankel's defense by saying, "Skinnygirl Cocktails was around before she even met him!"
Frankel filed for divorce in January 2013. She opened up in November about her ongoing divorce battle, comparing it to ice cream.
"Divorces are like ice cream, there are a lot of different flavors. Some can be very amicable, and some can be very peaceful and easy, and some can be really brutal," she said. "I honestly did not have any idea how difficult in the very least it can be."
Frankel and Hoppy met a nightclub in the Meatpacking District in 2008 and married in 2010 while the former Real Housewives of New York City star was pregnant with Bryn. When asked by talk show host Andy Cohen in September if there was one reason she and Hoppy split, Frankel said they had "fundamental differences."
Frankel and Hoppy played out their marriage on-screen in Bravo's spin-off, reality series' Bethenny Getting Married and Bethenny Ever After.
