Emma Stone rose eyebrows of fashion lovers when she showed up at the Tokyo premiere of "The Amazing Spider-Man" wearing a long-sleeved burgundy dress.

The 23-year-old actress and her real life boyfriend and co-star Andrew Garfield walked the red carpet at the Roppongi Hills today.

"The usually fashion-forward star showed up looking a little frumpy in an unflattering, long-sleeved burgundy dress," criticized the site TooFab.com.

Earlier today, Stone looked stunning in a photo call for the movie in Tokyo.

Stone dropped jaws with a gorgeous long-sleeved orange Rue du Mail mini dress from the Fall 2012 collection. She also wore houndstooth-print Ferragamao heels.

Stone portrays Gwen Stacy in the film, Peter Parker's first love interest. She spoke to Reuters about the film.

“New love interest, the story of Peter’s life, there’s a lot of stuff to learn about Peter Parker,” said Stone.

“He’s a real underdog, and he’s bullied, and I think everyone can relate ... He’s an incredibly inspirational character,” she added.

Stone and Garfield have also open up to the media about their off screen relationship.

In an interview with MTV News, Garfield admitted that he looked forward to film scenes with Stone.

"We got on really well as people, in between [takes]," Garfield told MTV News. "That was the fun stuff. In between, we'd just mess around, and I felt, 'Ah, this is different.'"

"Those were the days I would look forward to. For Peter as well. Because Peter goes through some horrible stuff in the movie. There's some joy to be had when experiencing his first love," Garfield said.

"The Amazing Spider-Man" hits theaters July 3.
