No Panty Day Declared on Twitter Prompting Hundreds to Lose Panties?
Friday is No Panty Day. Don't know about it? Well then you probably have not been keeping yourself up to date with Twitter trends. The social networking site trended with the hashtag #NoPantyDay today, and had hundreds of people confirming they would take part.
The day has seen many Twitter users posting rather disturbing photos of themselves in the social networking site. They are quite shocking, and discretion should be used before venturing onto Twitter to find them.
No Panty Day has supposedly been inspired by No Pants Day, which is a famous day taking place on the first Friday of June every year. That event was created to inspire people to go against regular social taboos, and seemingly indicated that having no pants was a good way to go about making their point.
Why then do we need No Panty Day as well? It seems to be a bit more sordid, and for sure if the images circulating on Twitter are anything to go by then it is a lot more sordid. It doesn't seem to have as noble a cause as No Pants Day, and doesn't really seem to be about breaking social taboos. More it seems to be just an excuse to ask others to, well, just not wear their panties!
Rather random, and as for those who are participating in the day, their participation probably says as much about them as anything else. "Oh someone has asked everyone to take off their panties on Twitter...ok then!" Hmmm...who are these people?
