Several dating couples have found themselves testing the strength of their relationships while appearing on The Amazing Race over the years, but season 25 could potentially showcase the first team where the couple breaks up while on their journey.

Couples have come and gone over the years, with some breaking off their relationships sometime after their appearance on the show, but season 25 contestants and Pro TNA wrestlers Robbie Strauss and Brooke Adams may be the first couple to break up while still competing.

In an interview with The Star-Ledger, Adams is referred to as Strauss' then-girlfriend for when they began filming the race in May-meaning they have since broken up. And after Strauss spoke about the race and how things went, he may have hinted that the relationship ended during filming.

After 32 days of no access to cell phones or social media, and dealing with a different set of challenges compared to the wrestling ring, Strauss admitted that the race was extremely hard.

"It did involve fitness but some things involved patience. Some things involved intelligence," he said. "I wanted to give up, I mean, everyone does. It taught me to just learn to be patient with myself."

If Adams and Strauss did break up during filming, it could propose a different dynamic for the show, as they would potentially transition from a dating team to a team of exes-similar to Season 23's wildly popular Tim and Marie-which could make for an interesting and different element that the show could take on.

If a break-up happened, they would be the first to end their relationship while racing, but would not be the first overall to change their status while on the show. Season 17 saw dating couple Chad and Stephanie (who finished in fifth place), get engaged during the course of the show, one leg before they were eliminated from the competition.

The Amazing Race Season 25 premieres on a new night, Friday, September 26 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
