Cristiano Ronaldo and Irina Shayk have parted ways after years of dating and her rep made sure to shut down the negative rumors about their relationship.

"We can confirm Irina Shayk has ended her relationship to Cristiano Ronaldo of five years. She has been close with his family throughout the course of their relationship," the model’s rep said in a statement. “Any negative rumors with regards to Irina and the Ronaldo family are completely false, and have not been a factor in the cause of the spilt. Irina has no further comment at the time."
These rumors include word that the Real Madrid soccer player dumped Shayk after she didn’t show up to his mother’s 60th birthday celebration. Other rumors claim that Ronaldo's mother didn't think Shayk was a good catch for her son.

“Dolores thinks Irina wasn't the right woman for Ronaldo's son,” a source reportedly told a Portuguese newspaper. “She wanted someone who would, in the future, assume the role of mum for Cristiano Jr. That wasn't a priority for Irina.”
Rumors of a split began after Ronaldo didn’t attend Shayk’s Hercules premiere over the summer. Most recently, Shayk also didn’t accompany Ronaldo at the FIFA Ballon d'Or awards on Jan. 12.
Ronaldo, one of the most famous soccer players in the world, and the Russian supermodel started their relationship after working together on an Armani ad in 2010.
