A 20-year-old man was arrested for allegedly strangling his mother to death after she notified him of an eviction for not keeping his room clean.

The mother of Conner Kobold, a student at the US Merchant Marine Academy, served him an eviction notice, demanding that he find employment and contribute to the upkeep of their home. The notice stipulated that he would have 30 days to comply or face eviction.

Kobold did not attempt to cover the tracks of his February 2024 murder. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, they were met with a chilling confession.

According to 'The New York Post,' Kobold quickly approached the officers, stating unequivocally that he had "killed somebody." He then led the authorities to his mother, who was critically injured. She was rushed to the hospital. According to reports, the son asked to be handcuffed. The victim suffered brain damage before succumbing to her injuries two days later.

While the confession was immediate, Kobold still awaits trial. He is currently in police custody and will be tried soon in Indiana.
