Kate Middleton Pregnancy: She Will Be A Firm Mother, Friend Says
Just one day after news broke that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is expecting her first child with Prince William, the world is already wondering what the royal couple will be like as parents.
The pair has been under intense scrutiny since marrying in what many have called the wedding of the century, and undoubtedly their role as parents will be no different. At least one friend of Middleton's told Us Weekly that the duchess will seek to find the perfect persona as a mother to nurture her child but also give it the discipline a young person needs.
"Kate will be a firm but fair mother," the pal predicted to the magazine.
One big challenge for Middleton and her husband, the friend added, will be how to deal with their child's intensely privileged lifestyle. As a member of the royal family, the couple's son or daughter will grow up in the lap of luxury, but both the prince and the duchess don't want their child to grow up spoiled or with a superiority complex.
"Kate will let her children have fun and freedom, but she will also make sure they do what is best for them," the source said.
Though her pregnancy is still in the earliest of stages, the royal couple already knows one thing for sure — their families will play a big role in the child's upbringing.
"William loves being at Kate's parents' house for the weekend," the insider said. "I can imagine them spending summer visits at their grandmother and grandfather's."
And Middleton's famous sister Pippa Middleton will also have a very important role as the baby's aunt.
"She will absolutely play a role," added the friend. "Pippa and Kate share everything."
Now Kate, Pippa and the entire family will have something incredibly meaningful to share — a new bundle of joy.
