A recent Comic Book report speculates Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) following in his mother's footsteps and running for mayor of Starling City in season 4 of Arrow.

New Character To Replace Felicity In Team Arrow In Season 4?

This would be a huge plot twist if it were to take place; to imagine Oliver as mayor is a completely different trip. The report picked up hints from suggestions of a huge political campaign lined up for the next chapter. The publication then goes on to weigh the pros and cons of Oliver taking up the political position.

These rumors have most likely been spurred by a TVLine report in June which brought up the question of the next mayor for Starling City, but nowhere did it mention Oliver being considered for the position.

First Look At Season 4 Of Arrow To Be Unveiled At Comic-Con

The report revealed that the series was looking for a suitable candidate for Starling City's mayor. The publication revealed that the producers are seeking a fiftysomething actress to play the character, Patty.

Patty will be a "longtime friend of Moira's" and would have also been close with Oliver and Thea (Willa Holland) at some point in time.

The report flirts with the idea of Patty knowing of Moira's (Susanna Thompson) secret: "she years ago paid off Oliver's baby mama to leave town."

Season 4 of Arrow will premiere on Oct. 7.

The finale of season 3, entitled 'My Name is Oliver Queen,' of Arrow aired on May 13 on The CW.
