Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi Have 'Twisted' Relationship: TV Host is 'Paranoid'
Ellen DeGeneres is known across the country for the happy-go-lucky personality she exhibits on her hit talk show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," but things may not be so pleasant when it comes to her relationship with wife Portia de Rossi.
A new report from Star magazine claimed that the couple's relationship is quite strange, with a source even calling it a "twisted romance." The report said that "tensions are getting high" and that DeGeneres "keeps her wife on a very short leash."
"Ellen is so paranoid, she tries to dictate every move Portia makes, and Portia has gotten into the habit of just doing whatever she says," a source said. "Right now, Portia seems to ask 'How high?' whenever her partner says 'jump' - but before long, she may respond by walking out."
Gossip Cop claimed the story simply isn't true, citing a source of its own who said the couple is perfectly happy with the dynamics of their relationship and that neither of them wants anything to change.
"You've never seen a more well adjusted couple who are hilarious and loving together, and yet both so proud and encouraging of the other's independence," the source said.
That seems to be the case, as DeGeneres and de Rossi were spotted just this weekend arriving together to Jennifer Aniston's annual holiday tree trimming party, which was originally misreported as a bash to celebrate Aniston's engagement with fiance Justin Theroux.
The party seemed to have a casual vibe, as most of the guests were dressed down. In addition to DeGeneres and de Rossi, some of the other high-profile attendees included Ben Stiller, Demi Moore, Tobey Maguire and wife Jennifer Meyer, actress Lake Bell and Aniston's long time agent Kevin Huvane.
DeGeneres and de Rossi married in 2008.
