After an explosive Twitter rant by ex-boyfriend Rob Kardashian over a recent breakup, a recent interview with Rita Ora sheds light on the reason for their split.

In the January 2012 issue of Glamour U.K., Ora, 22, cited long distance as the blame for their breakup.

"I'm not going out with Rob. We were close for a while, but it didn't work because I was never there," Ora told Glamour UK magazine, according to Daily Mail.

"I was like a ghost," she explained. "I used to get so frustrated with myself and then wonder why I was angry, so I decided it was best to keep it friendly -- especially at the moment, when there's so much going on."

The "Hot Right Now" singer also confessed she has never been in love.

"In 22 years, there's been nothing. I have had young fascinations but never love. I think it's my only weakness...I'm scared of letting my guard down," she admitted. "And if I feel in love with someone now, he'd have to try ten times harder to break it down."

An insider close to the situation told a British newspaper that the breakup between the London-based singer and the California resident was due to the difficulty of coping with a long distance relationship.

"It's really sad - they really liked each other but with him living in LA and her over in London, it was becoming impossible to maintain a relationship," an insider told British newspaper The Sun. "They'd only decided to go public with the romance a couple of months ago so as not to put any pressure on themselves but they've already split."

Kardashian, a cast member on "Keeping Up The Kardashians," deleted a series of explosive tweets on Dec. 4 about a breakup over a girlfriend and her allegedly cheating on him.

"She cheated on me with nearly 20 dudes while we were together, I wonder how many she will sleep with now that we apart? But I mean 20?!!!," Kardashian tweeted on Monday, which has since been deleted. "How can a woman who is so busy trying to start her own career have time to be with so many dudes all while in a relationship?!"

He fired off another tweeted further to explain his disappointment.

"When a woman cheats on you with one man I can live with that," he wrote. "People make mistakes, trust me. I have forgiven numerous times...But when a woman disrespects herself by messing with more than 20 men all while being in a relationship with a Faithful man..."

After the term "Rita Whora" trended on Twitter and screengrabs of the tweets went viral online, Kardashian, 25, sent a tweet to explain that it wasn't Ora he was referring to in the Twitter rant.

"Just so we clear I never once mentioned 'Rita Ora' in any of my tweets or even used the word 'whore' and I never would. I Respect Women," tweeted Kardashian.
