New York native and rapper Jay-Z recently preferred to take the MTA transit system than door-to-door car service and as a result, he ended up having a conversation with a woman on the subway who at first had no idea why other people were dying to take his photo.

In a documentary about the rapper titled "Where I'm From," Jay-Z is shown preparing and performing his eight consecutive concerts at the new Barclay's Stadium in Brooklyn, NY. The video, posted on Youtube on Tuesday, showed his fans going crazy for him at the arena during his performances but also when he chose to take the subway to the stadium for his last concert.

Toward the end of the footage, the "99 Problems" singer is shown entering a New York City train station with a bodyguard and surrounded by screaming fans trying to take a picture of the singer. He waited for a Brooklyn-bound subway and when he got on the train, he sat next to an elderly woman. Curious about all the commotion and screaming fans that following Jay-Z onto the train, the woman, who later introduced herself as Ellen, asked Jay-Z "Are you famous?"

He answered with "Yes. Not very famous, you don't know me. But I'll get there some day."

Ellen does confirm at that moment that she does not know who he is. Jay-Z said "My name is Jay" and she still does not recognize the "Otis" collaborator.

She asked him what he does for a living and Beyonce's husband answered "I make music...I'm on my way to a performance in Brooklyn. At the new Brooklyn arena." Ellen called that "fabulous" and after Jay-Z noted that he was on the way to his eighth consecutive show, she said she was "proud" that he was taking the subway.

She finally figured out who he was when she ended the conversation by saying "Say your name again, just so I get it..." He answered "Jay, Jay-Z" and Ellen then jumped in with "Oh, you're Jay-Z! I know about Jay-Z" and the two had a good laugh.

The Youtube video had over 150,000 views at time of publication and many users commented on the humorous conversation between Jay-Z and his fellow subway passenger.
