Frankie Muniz Stroke; 'I Couldn't Say Words' During Mini-Stroke
Frankie Muniz is happy to be alive on his 27th birthday today after a recent mini-stroke.
The actor and musician appeared on "Good Morning America" this morning to talk about the health scare.
"I couldn't say words," Muniz said. "I thought I was saying them! My fiancé was looking at me like I was speaking a foreign language."
Muniz was riding his motorcycle to his fiancé Elycia Marie Turnbow's mother on Friday in Phoenix, Ariz. when he lost sight in one eye.
"I thought I had something on the visor of my helmet. I couldn't focus out of my right eye," Muniz said in an interview with People Magazine. "By the time I got to her mom's house I pretty much had no vision in my right eye."
After being rushed to the hospital, his doctors confirmed that he suffered from a mini-stroke.
The former "Malcolm in the Middle" star informed his fans on his condition using social media.
"I was in the hospital last Friday. I suffered a 'Mini Stroke,' which was not fun at all. Have to start taking care of my body! Getting old!" Muniz tweeted.
His doctors have not released their diagnosis on why Muniz had the mini-stroke, but the actor says he tries to keep healthy by not smoking, drinking or doing drugs.
"I can't get a deep breath in," he said, adding, "I'm still trying to make sense of it, but happy I'm alive."
Muniz currently plays drums for the band Kingsfoil and his stroke has not apparently interfered with the band's upcoming tour dates. Their next appearance takes place in Teaneck, N.J. on Dec. 9.
Muniz rose to fame during the six year run of the Fox hit comedy series "Malcolm in the Middle" which starred "Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston as his father. He also starred in two "Agent Cody Banks" films as well as "Big Fat Liar" alongside Amanda Bynes and Paul Giamati.
Happy birthday to Frankie Muniz and warm wishes for good health!
