'Jumanji' Reboot 2016: Beloved Robin Williams Film Being Remade, Twitter Very Unhappy [VIDEO]
Sony has officially announced a release date for the reboot of the film Jumanji, a full 20 years after the movie's release.
The Jumanji reboot film will be released Dec. 25, 2016, mirroring the original film's holiday release in 1995. The film starred Robin Williams as Alan, a man trapped in a board game for decades who is finally released when two kids play the game.
The film also starred Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce, Jonathan Hyde, Bonnie Hunt, Bebe Neuwirth, David Alan Grier, Patricia Clarkson and more.

As reported by Slashfilm, a Jumanji reboot had previous been in the works in 2012, with screenwriter Zach Helm (Stranger than Fiction, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium) penning the script. It is not known if Helm is still involved with the project..
The original film was a huge box office success, raking in over $250 million and becoming a family classic for millions of '90s kids.
Despite (or perhaps because of) the love for 1995's Jumanji, many Twitter users are not happy that it is being remade. Here is a cross selection of tweets that showcase the disdain for Sony's decision:
While nostalgia and reboots are very in right now, it remains to be seen if this one will be a success.
