'Criminal Minds' Season 11 Spoilers: Kate Callahan's Replacement In Next Chapter Confirmed [VIDEO]
A TVLine spoiler report for the premiere of season 11 of Criminal Minds revealed that episode will begin with the BAU interviewing candidates to replace Kate Callahan (Jennifer Love Hewitt).
Could Ella Greenaway Return For Season 11?
There had been a whole lot of speculation surrounding which new cast member has been picked to fill Hewitt's shoes after she made her exit at the end of season 10 on account of her pregnancy. The new report confirms that the recently revealed cast addition Aisha Tyler is set to take on that role. Tyler is playing the part of Dr. Tara Lewis, who is a forensic psycholigist. In the premiere, after the bunch of interviews, the BAU will hire Lewis.
Previously, Entertainment Weekly sourced an official description about the character:
Season 11 To Focus On Dr. Reid's Personal Story
"Her dream was to study psychopaths up close and personal - and her psychology background, combined with her experience in the FBI, brought her face-to-face with monsters. Her job was to stare them down and interview them, in order to determine if they were fit to stand trial. In the process, she made herself find the humanity inside these broken men (and, sometimes, women) in order to learn if there was a conscience behind their brutal crimes."
On July 30, the official Set_Report Twitter account for Criminal Minds revealed an on-set still of Joe Mantegna and Tyler. Before that, Tyler shared her first pic with other cast members, Shemar Moore, Thomas Gibson and Matthew Gray Gubler on set. The actress tweeted the image where the four of them are seen sharing a light moment, behind-the-scenes.
Season 11 will premiere on Sept. 30 on CBS.
