'Justice League' Movie 2015: Michael Caine Reprising Alfred Role? Latest Details!
After "The Dark Knight Rises" came out in theaters, rumors almost instantaneously seemed to revolve around the future of the John Blake character (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and him potentially moving on to become either the new Batman, Robin or Nightwing.
Months later, DC Comic fans still haven't received the answer they are looking for. However, actor Michael Caine, who played Batman's butler Alfred, did give his take on potentially reprising his role in the franchise's future "Justice League" mega-movie.
Caine was asked if he had any interest in returning as Bruce Wayne's butler and he gave the following response, according to Screenrant:
"I said to Chris, 'If they do it again and they ask me to be the Butler, I'm going to do it," he said. "I want 10 percent."
While there is a strong possibility that "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan may not be on board for the highly anticipated "Justice League" flick, the website reported that Caine would still be interested in signing on for the part, unlike several others such as Christian Bale, who may consider the director's absence a deal-breaker.
Technically speaking, Nolan had not said that he wouldn't come back for "Justice League," but only for future Batman's. Hence, there's still hope within the DC Universe. While no one knows for sure just how Caine's character would tie into the mega- movie, it does make for joyful chatter amongst comic fans.
Moving forward, the production team will be primarily focused on composing the large team of superheroes that'll make up the future blockbuster. Although the film still doesn't have a director attached to it as of yet, writer Will Beall of "Gangster Squad" is said to be working feverishly on completing the script. "Justice League" is expected to come out in 2015 and will star superheroes such as Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and the Flash, to name a few.
