During the new episode of the MTV reality series, Leah Messer revealed her then-husband hadn't been home for weeks during a conversation with her friend, Amber, and said he was filing for divorce after a number of threats at doing so.
"He does it all the time," Messer told Amber, according to a clip shared by PEOPLE Magazine on Thursday. "I can't tell you how many times he's thrown his ring in my face."

According to the clip, Messer's spending habits and her and Calvert's "dwindling bank account" led up to a big fight, during which she admitted to struggling with anxiety and depression. As fans are likely aware, Messer later entered treatment for these issues, but not before her divorce from Calvert was finalized.
As she sat down with her friend, Amber worried that Calvert had "taken pieces" of Messer, but Messer continued to do her best to avoid her impending divorce.
"I don't think we should get a divorce, but I think each of us needs time. Like, he needs to get help, and I need to get help," she said at the time, claiming her reason behind wanting to get help was "because I love him."
In addition to the couple's money troubles, Calvert accused Messer of cheating on him with Robbie Kidd on Twitter, although it is unclear if that was one of the reasons behind his divorce filing. Messer has also been accused of abusing her prescription, but according to her mother, those claims are untrue.
