James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe's chemistry shines in the newly released trailer for Victor Frankenstein.

Henry Cavill Says Superman's Biggest Obstacle Is 'His Own Noggin'

Victor Frankenstein is told from the perspective of Igor, Frankenstein's assistant. The film features McAvoy as Frankenstein and Radcliffe as Igor, and their humorous antics are shown throughout the trailer.

The two actors introduce the trailer, agreeing that the film is something they are very proud of and that it offers a new twist on the commonly known Frankenstein story. As the trailer unfolds, we see Frankenstein and Igor's great partnership. With darker elements combined with light touches of humor, the trailer brings to mind the Sherlock Holmes film series as well as Pirates of the Caribbean.

Quentin Tarantino's 'The Hateful Eight' Trailer Is Finally Here!

The trailer features Frankenstein bringing his classic monster to life, with Igor hesitant but not doing much to stop him. The film will presumably continue on with the traditional Frankenstein story, written by Mary Shelley, in which the monster goes on a path of destruction. (Fun fact: The original story of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley actually doesn't have the Igor character at all.)

Victor Frankenstein was directed by Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin) and written by Max Landis (Chronicle). The film also has several connections to the Sherlock TV show. McGuigan directed two episodes of the series while actors Andrew Scott (who plays Moriarty in the series), Louise Brealey (who plays Molly) and Mark Gatiss (the series co-creator and portrayer of Mycroft Holmes) are all co-starring in the film.

Victor Frankenstein will be released in theaters on Nov. 25.
