It's been a long and painful ride on The Fosters, but it sounds like everyone is going to find a new part of themselves in future episodes.

Chatter On Jesus's Character On 'The Fosters'

On Tuesday, The Hollywood Reporter shared an interview with co-creator Peter Paige who revealed a few things that fans can expect when the show returns. As Callie had to face ongoing battles since the beginning, there are going to be some changes with her.

"She's created this app and she's turning into an activist," Paige said about Callie. "Something we learned from foster kids sitting down with them to hear their stories is that so many of them are invested in social justice and they're all invested in making the system better for the kids behind them. That feels really authentic to the foster kid experience and feels really authentic for Callie. She's a reluctant champion."

The creator also mentioned some stuff about Mariana, Brandon, Jude and the new Jesus (played by Noah Centineo who is replacing Jake T. Austin).

"We're excited to have Jesus to write for again," Paige revealed. "Brandon is such a pensive young man and Jude is such an old soul that it's nice to have somebody who's a little clueless. We've got some great stuff on the board for Mariana. Jude is going to have to try and navigate what it means if Connor is going away. What's next for them, and if Connor goes, where does Jude's heart go."

The Fosters is expected to return to ABC Family in early 2016.
