July 2015 Was The Hottest Month On Earth Since We Started Tracking
This just in: July 2015 has been reported as having been the hottest month on earth since 1880.
So if you felt that you were being swallowed whole in the fiery pit of hell this July, your figurative estimation wasn't too off point.
The National Centers for Environmental Information revealed this bit of rather shocking news. Bloomberg news got the lowdown about this phenomenon from a press con call from the center.
"As July is climatologically the warmest month for the year, this was also the all-time highest monthly temperature in the 1880-2015 record," the center said.
Jessica Blunden, a climatologist at the center, portends no real relief in sight as she suggests that the temperatures are only going to keep rising.
"There isn't a pause," Blunden said. "Temperatures have been increasing. There really, truly isn't a pause."
She also added that she was quite certain that the year 2015 as a whole would also be the hottest on record so far. This is a hint for the climate change naysayers to lay off their theorising about how it's really not an issue to be concerned about.
High time we took note of the global warming, as highlighted by Jake Crouch, a physical scientist at the center.
"It's reaffirming what we already know: the world is warming," Crouch said. "It's time for us to start looking at what are the impacts of that."
