For the current cycle the winner will walk away with a modeling contract from NEXT Management, which has been the modeling agency supplying the coveted model contracts since Cycle 20.
NEXT Management is a global modeling agency with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, London, Milan and Miami. It is known for being one of the top modeling agencies in the world.
Why Does Modeling Go Hand-In-Hand With Deafness According To 'America's Next Top Model's Nyle?
Alexis Borges, the agency director out of the Los Angeles NEXT Management office, revealed in an interview for America's Next Top Model Cycle 22 what he looks for in models signing with the agency.
"Well a NEXT model usually is not a very commercial girl. She's not an obvious girl," Borges said in the video below, adding, "I always look for some kind of quirkiness or something that's just a little different that can set her apart from the rest."
It sounds like perhaps NEXT is hoping a female contestant will win this cycle since Borges kept mentioning "girl," "she" and "her". Although he did reveal later on in the interview that there are a few male contestants in this cycle that stand out, but he didn't name names.
Bottom line the models the agency signs need to stand out in some way.
Borges also dished on how he believes the series definitely helps the contestants prepare for the world of modeling once they're going on castings and such.
He also offered up some tips for hopefuls that want to break into the modeling business.
He is totally against modeling classes.
"There's no real such thing," he said, adding, "Modeling is something that you learn on the job."
America's Next Top Model Cycle 22 airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
