Alan Cumming has just scored his third Emmy nomination for portraying Eli Gould in The Good Wife.

Alicia Won't Partner Up With Louis Canning In Season 7?

In a recent interview with Deadline, the actor dished about his character arc in season 7 of The Good Wife. Cumming revealed that Eli will be "opening up a can of whoop-ass" in the next chapter.

Eli might have too much on his plate in season 7 as Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) will be running for Democrat nominee for the Presidential race. "Eli's head explodes in Season 7," Cumming said, "but not in the way you all may think. The episodes we've shot so far are the most fun I've had playing him in all seven seasons."

The actor suggests there will be plenty funnies, something his character is known to bring to the CBS legal drama.

He "drops his pants and asks people to kiss his ass," Cumming said. "It doesn't really get much better than that, though he hasn't done it for a few seasons-hint hint!"

Cumming also spoke about how acting was always something that he was confident about growing up, in that he was gifted.

"I realized very early on at school that acting was the first thing I was any good at so I stuck with it," he said. "I am good at some other things but they're not so fun. I did some plays at school and then went to drama school in Glasgow and trained for three years. I've worked constantly since. I know. This must sound revolting to anyone who is reading this at an audition right now."

Season 7 is set to premiere on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m.

The season 6 finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
