It’s inevitable the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) will have unforgettable and talked about moments. Well last night, Nicki Minaj calling out Miley Cyrus was definitely one of them. But it’s still not clear if their newfound beef is real or just for the cameras.

Fans who saw the show (and even the ones who didn’t) might have been shocked when Nicki dissed Cyrus when she accepted an award for Best Hip-Hop video for her video "Anaconda". She challenged Cyrus and said, “Now back to this b---- that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley what’s good?”

It was pretty clear that Cyrus did not see Nicki’s message coming. But she did handle it very well.

“Hey, we’re all in this industry, we all do interviews, and we all know how they manipulate s---. Nicki, congratulations,” was Cyrus’ response.

She tried to move on but Nicki was still standing there, wanting Cyrus to address it even further. What Cyrus did do is tell Nicki not to worry about not getting that Video of The Year nomination. Which is interesting because Nicki went off about not getting the nod on Twitter, which sparked a brief feud with Taylor Swift who responded.

Still, Cyrus’ interview with The New York Times in which she opened up about Nicki’s comments about not getting nominated is what set off Nicki.

“What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It’s not very polite. I think there’s a way you speak to people with openness and love. You don’t have to start this pop star against pop star war.

"It became Nicki Minaj and Taylor in a fight, so now the story isn’t even on what you wanted it to be about. Now you’ve just given E! News ‘Catfight! Taylor and Nicki Go At It.’”

Plus, Cyrus looked pretty shocked when Nicki came for her. But then again, she is an actress.

Still, some fans are a little confused as to whether Nicki was serious in confronting Cyrus, or if it was just a skit to have fans talking about for days. See what they had to say below.

But if it was a skit, it seems like Cyrus would have went along with it and challenged Nicki back to keep it going. Unless the ladies keep it going, we may never know.
