A source close to Jacintha Saldanha's family revealed that the nurse involved in the Kate Middleton phone call scam may have committed suicide in part because she was criticized hard by the hospital where she worked.

Daily Mail reported Thursday on a source connected to the nurse's family, who said one of Saldanha's suicide notes is critical of the hospital for the treatment she received.

"The nurse found dead following a hoax call to the hospital treating the Duchess of Cambridge criticised senior colleagues over her treatment in one of three suicide notes," the report said. "She has criticized colleagues at the King Edward VII hospital over her treatment following the controversial call."

Her treatment at the hospital was not directly linked to the hoax phone call in the new report, but TMZ added "it appears to be the case" given another one of Saldanha's suicide notes, which reportedly described how she tried to cope with a fallout with the hospital because of the prank call.

A hospital spokesperson claims hospital management was supportive of Saldanha.

Saldanha's body was discovered Friday, Dec. 7, in the nurses' quarters nearby the hospital.

Saldanha, 46, reportedly left three suicide notes following the prank call by Australian DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian. The radio hosts called King Edward VII hospital, put on a fake British accent and impersonated the Queen and Prince Charles, asking about Middleton's condition (she was admitted to the hospital for morning sickness). Their phone call was reportedly answered by Saldanha who then transferred the call to another nurse. The second nurse, who believed she was talking to members of the royal family, relayed details about Middleton's health status. The radio station hosts later replayed the call on air and raved about it on Twitter.

On Monday, Dec. 10, Greig and Christian apologized on Australian TV for their hoax phone call, which is linked by many reporters to Saldanha's alleged suicide.
