Amal Clooney News 2015: Sexist Tweet Against The Human Rights Lawyer Prompts Online Anger [VIDEO]
Amal Clooney is one celebrity who doesn't have to say very much these days but still manages to generate more headlines than a lot of Hollywood stars put together in the entertainment world. This time around the British beauty is front page news all because a media outlet's "sexist" tweet caused online outrage in the Twitterverse this past weekend.

According to The Huffington Post on Monday, it all started when the Associated Press referred to Amal as "actor's wife" (as in George Clooney's wife) rather than a human rights lawyer in a tweet they posted on Saturday.
The tweet read, "Amal Clooney, actor's wife, representing Al-Jazeera journalist accused in Egypt of ties to extremists."

Unfortunately, this didn't go over very well with the news agency's followers, as many expressed their disbelief in the choice of words to describe Amal as an actor's wife, rather than a top international lawyer.
Many comments included, "It's a good job that when she's not being George Clooney's wife she's not like A HIGH PROFILE HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYER or anything," along with, "BREAKING: @AP Stuck in the 1950s When Women Were Valued on Who Their Husbands Were."
Another twitter user wrote, "She's not famous in the West. He is. That's all there is to it. Without him, no story interest so no story."
Amal married her husband George in a star-studded wedding in Venice last year. The couple will be celebrating their one year anniversary in September.
