Prince William and Middleton announced that they were expecting a baby on December 3 through an official statement on their website. That same day, Middleton was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (morning sickness.)

The Palace announced that the pregnancy is "in its very early stages."

The Daily Mail is reporting that Kate is "barely eight weeks pregnant."

According to British media, William, and Middleton were hoping to keep the pregnancy news to themselves until Christmas Day. However, a source in the Palace told People Magazine, that William and Kate decided to "be open" about her pregnancy because she was admitted to the hospital.

The couple's announcement has triggered massive bets on what the baby's name will be. The most popular bet so far is Elizabeth with 8 to 1 odds and Diana, in honor of Prince William's late mother, is a close second with 12 to 1 odds, according to the online sports betting agency William Hill.
