While ABC’s Rookie Blue has not been given a cancellation just yet, its cast has premiered for the show to come to an end.
‘Rookie Blue’s’ Latest Season Finale Could Be The Show’s Last
Last night marked the sixth season finale and the Canadian show is hanging the balance yet again without news of a possible renewal. So much of its stars mentally prepared themselves for their final bow.
Lead actress Missy Peregrym opened up about her thoughts with The Hollywood Reporter just hours before the episode aired. She said that while there is definitely room for the characters to grow and even have families of their own, “I’m really happy with the way that this one was wrapped up.

I think it’s a gift if you can close series down by choice instead of being cancelled. That’s so rare.”
While the original show runner and co-creator Tassie Cameron has stepped down, writer Sherry White is ready to take over should the show be given a new batch of episodes. And if the show does continue, McNally will try her hand a different role as well.
“I was offered the position to produce. To me, I feel like I was already kind of doing that, like an on-set producer. What’s important to me is actually getting the work done and creating a really safe, positive environment where people can be creative and fail and mess up and try again and not feel judged for exploring stuff.”
She added that she is satisfied with whatever the show decides to do. For more on the future of Rookie Blue, keep checking in with Enstarz.
