There's a good reason why Andi Dorfman has been single for the most part of this year. The former Bachelorette star admits that while she's still openly looking for love, the dating scene in New York City hasn't been very kind to her, unfortunately.

According to Page Six on Friday, Dorfman says that finding Mr. Right in the Big Apple has been quite the challenge. The reality television star pulled the plug on her engagement to ex-fiance Josh Murray earlier this year.

She said, "My girlfriends always tell me that the dating game is just insane here [in New York]. Women in this city are ambitious and they go after what they want and that bleeds over to the dating world."

The Georgia native also says that unlike many of her good friends, she hasn't used technology to find a date, either.

She explained, "I haven't done the apps. I did reality television and I think that was my guilty pleasure. Sometimes I think the apps are really superficial. I just don't think I can swipe on somebody based off a five-second photo glance."

And while being single in the city can sometimes be tough, Dorfman says that living in the Big Apple also has its perks, too.

She added, "I saw Sarah Jessica Parker walking her kids to school right in front of my house and my jaw went to the pavement," she admitted. "I was frozen. Being a single girl in New York, you can't help but fan-girl out to [SJP]. She's the epitome of single girl in the city. I'm fan-girling thinking about her now."
