NCIS will be kicking off its brand new season very soon and there is so much to look forward to as Gibbs (Mark Harmon) struggles to find peace after getting shot by a kid on behalf of a terrorist group and more.

Abby Will Have To 'Use Her Wits' In The New Season Of 'NCIS,' But Why?

So far it is known that Muse Watson will be back to portray Mike Franks in the new season via Gibbs' hallucinations and probably through dream sequence scenes and maybe even flashbacks.

Other familiar faces like Kent Shocknek, a real-life reporter/actor, will appear as a reporter on the series once again.

Which British Actress Was Recently On Set Of 'NCIS' For Its Latest Season?

Those aren't the only guest spots happening though! TVLine revealed on Friday that the Tony DiNozzo portrayer, Michael Weatherly, dished viewers of this series this season will basically be emotionally moved by upcoming guest spots.

"I have come to understand that there will be, later in the year, some guest stars that will melt the avid NCIS viewer's brain," he shared.

That led to showrunner Gary Glasberg only saying, "We've got some really fine guest spots that aren't locked in yet."

Does this mean fans will get Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) back on their TV screens?

Earlier this year while promoting The Dovekeepers she did reveal that missed being on set of the CBS series, adding, "There is always hope for Tiva [Tony and Ziva's ship name]."

De Pablo's character is definitely one that would spark major meltdowns from fans of the series.

Nothing has been confirmed though so just keep checking back and we'll keep you posted if Ziva does return to NCIS.

NCIS returns to CBS on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
