'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Anne Hathaway & Amanda Seyfried Now Favorites For Ana?
Buzz continues to circulate at a rapid rate over who the front-runners are to play the role of Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of the popular novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." While nobody knows for certain just how the casting process will go, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried of "Les Miserables" have undoubtedly caught the eyes of many fans of the sexy read.
Hathway almost instantaneously ignited rumors when she inadvertently flashed her privates upon exiting her limo in New York City recently. The respective incident even struck a cord with Wetpaint.
"(T)he incident - and her strappy, dominatrix-esque Tom Ford sandals and high-slit Tom Ford gown - got us thinking: Could Anne pull off the role of young, impressionable, innocently sexy Anastasia Steele in the upcoming film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey?" the site asks.
In terms of the online forums, the 30-year-old Hathaway has received mixed reactions for the character due to her age. Hathaway's tendency to take on more mature parts such as "Brokeback Mountain" along with "Love and other Drugs." However, many feel as though a little makeup and a change of wardrobe would do just the trick.
On the other hand, Seyfried, 27, has already been rumored in previous internet fan polls for the role of Ana due to her beauty and age. However,International Business Times states that the actress "seems a better fit for the role of the sexier, darker and feistier Eva Trammel of the other erotic series, Crossfire."
Other notable actresses who have come up on the regular for the Ana part include Nina Dobrev of "Vampire Diaries," Emma Watson of "Harry Potter," and "Gilmore Girls'" Alexis Bledel among several others.
Author E.L. James and the producers of the "Fifty Shades" film have remained coy on how the casting process will ultimately be conducted. Although screenwriter Kelly Marcel was recently revealed to be penning the screenplay, no release date has yet to be determined.
